6-year-old genius kid gains admission to Oxford university, becomes the youngest ever African admitted to UK university
6-year-old Joshua Beckford, whose parents are from Nigeria, has broken a record by becoming the youngest student ever to be admitted to Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Joshua Beckford was granted admission to the school to pursue a degree in philosophy and history.
Joshua Peckford is a genius and one of the most brilliant minds in the world despite having autism. After observing that Joshua had memorized and understood the letters on a computer keyboard just by sitting with him, Joshua’s father Knox Daniel realized at the age of 10 months that Joshua is not a typical boy.
Joshua was able to read with ease and speak Japanese by the time he was two years old. Joshua claimed that by the time he was four years old, he was able to play on his laptop and simulate the removal of body organs.
His father was astounded by his son’s impressive intellect but knew that his son’s mind was too developed for a conventional education. He homeschooled him as a result, and later inquired with Oxford University about enrolling him in a philosophy course for gifted kids between the ages of eight and thirteen.
Joshua got accepted to study Philosophy and History at the esteemed University of Oxford in England when he was just 6 years old. He was the university’s youngest student to be admitted, and he later earned distinctions in both courses while graduating.
“Since the age of four, I was on my dad’s laptop and it had a body simulator where I would pull out organs. I want to save the earth. I want to change the world and change people’s ideas to doing the right things about earth,” Joshua said.
