A very intelligent African Lady graduates as a Civil Engineer from US university while nursing her son, celebrates achievement
Khadijah Ceesay, a young and smart African woman from The Gambia, graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC, despite having to balance her academics with looking after her infant son.
Khadijah, who earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, announced her graduation on Twitter and thanked everyone for their support. She also noted that she had persevered through difficult times in school and never gave up.
Holding her handsome son, Khadijah wrote: “I just want my son to know his mum is resilient and she never gave up! Full time Mum. Full Time Student. & Now Full time Civil Engineer!”
She held the position of president of the Howard University Muslim Students’ Association while she was a student there. She also completed a Transport Engineering internship at Amazon.
In addition, Khadijah worked as an M-Fellow at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States. In June 2022, she started working as an Engineering Intern at Tooles Design in Maryland.
