A video showing Grammy-winning artist Damini Ogulu, better known by his stage as Burna Boy, smashing yam in the trenches has gone viral.

In the viral video, the musician could be seen frantically pounding yam while remaining fully attired as an Odogwu.

This demonstration of his street cred comes shortly after his unsuccessful New Year’s music gig in Lagos.

For days, Burna was criticized online for holding his concertgoers waiting more than eight hours before starting the show.

However, the new tape has sparked controversy online as Nigerians have criticized the artist and said that the new video is simply “Eye service” and a last-ditch effort to appear respectable.
