Afrobeats superstar Wizkid once took out a loan to advance his career, according to Godwin Tom, Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing Nigeria.
He revealed this in a radio broadcast when discussing how musicians still use their own funds to support their careers even when they are signed to record firms.
The popular R&B artist Wande, according to the music executive, also took out a loan to advance his career.
Godwin claims that even though Wizkid’s financial situation wasn’t great at the time, he still decided to take the money because he had faith in his future potential.
