Burna Boy has been named Spotify’s Most Streamed Artist in Nigeria for 2022.
According to Victor Okpala, Spotify’s Artist & Label Partnerships Manager, West Africa, who spoke at the 2022 edition of Wrapped, the singer is also the most globally streamed artist from Sub-Saharan Africa in 2022.
At the 2022 Wrapped, it was also announced that Burna Boy’s track ‘Last Last’ is the most streamed song in Nigeria, as well as the most heartfelt song.
Asake, Wizkid, BNXN fka Buju, Davido, Drake, Fireboy DML, Omah Lay, Rema, and Kizz Daniel are among the other male artists in the top ten.
In 2022, Ayra Starr is the most streamed female artist in Nigeria, while Tems has the most vibe among Nigeria’s musical exports.
Wait For You, the singer’s collaboration with Future and Drake, was the top Nigerian song export of the year.
Okpala added;
“2022 USHERED US INTO AN ERA OF CULTURAL OVERDRIVE AND WE’RE EXCITED FOR FANS AND ARTISTS ALIKE TO SHARE THESE INSIGHTS ON THE MUSIC THEY CREATED AND LISTENED TO THIS YEAR.
