Campaign train for Oborevwori arrives in Ughelli North in 2023.
Yesterday, a sizable crowd greeted Sheriff Oborevwori, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor of Delta State, as his ward-to-ward campaign train berthed in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
At 10:12 a.m., Oborevwori, who started the Ughelli North ward-to-ward campaign from Uwheru Ward 9, arrived at the location to applause and songs from the crowd.
Speaking to the crowd, he claimed to be the first gubernatorial candidate in the nation to launch a ward-to-ward campaign and praised the people for their tremendous mobilization.
Since his birth, according to Oborevwori, he has only ever resided in Nigeria; however, he did mention that he had visited Uvwie and Osubi.
He stated that the Uwheru township road would be built and added that the project was in the awarding stage.
Oborevwori claimed that he had appealed to all disgruntled members of the party, urging them to put down their swords and work for the party’s success in 2023.
He urged voters to support all party candidates for office, from the presidency to the House of Assembly, and he blamed the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government for the nation’s insecurity, including herdsmen attacks in Urhobo land.
Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori, the PDP candidate for governor, made an appeal to the people in Evwreni, where she was raised, to support her husband and all other party candidates.
Chairman of the PDP in the state, Kingsley Esiso said the APC had finished the country, lamenting “There is hunger, insecurity and poverty in the country.”
