Ugwuanyi establishes a PDP state campaign organization and urges members to sell the party to voters.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State said on Tuesday that the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formed a strong campaign organization comprised of battle-tested, competent, and experienced politicians who will ensure that all party candidates win early and comfortably in the 2023 elections.

Speaking at the launch of the PDP Campaign Organization in Enugu State, under the formidable leadership of Chief Ikeje Asogwa, a former State Chairman of the party, as the Director General (DG), Gov. Ugwuanyi congratulated the DG and members of the organization chosen for the onerous task, reminding them and all teeming PDP members that “we are in this together.”

The governor, who emphasized grassroots campaigning and mobilization, emphasized “we must campaign for our party in our political wards and communities as politics is indeed local,” adding: “When we win all the polling units in our ward, our ward is won; when we win all the wards in our local government area, our local government area is won; when we win all our local government areas, our state is finally won. Therefore, in reality, it is everybody’s business to sell our party.”

Gov. Ugwuanyi stated that the PDP has enjoyed the overwhelming support and consideration of the good people of Enugu State over the last two decades, emphasizing that this outpouring of love, unwavering support, and committed solidarity has been the wind in the sails of the party in the state.

The governor expressed confidence that the successive PDP governments in Enugu State would fulfill their contracts with the people within the constraints of available resources. “our campaign will leverage  the stellar performance of the current PDP government in the state, the goodwill of our great party ,the PDP, the intimidating credentials and general acceptability of the flag-bearers of our party to achieve landslide victory for all of them in the 2023 general election.”

Gov. Ugwuanyi maintained that the PDP chapter in Enugu State has a history of being peaceful, united, law-abiding, and steadfast in its operations, ” disclosing that “these attributes, as always, should guide the conduct of our campaigns in the state.”

The governor formally inaugurated the PDP campaign organization in Enugu State for the 2023 general election, praying for the party’s total victory, a successful campaign process, and charging members of the newly inaugurated campaign organization to go to rural areas, speak the language the people will understand, and strive to ensure that the PDP wins all the way.

Speaking on behalf of members of the PDP state campaign organization, Chief Asogwa thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi, the party’s leader in the state and the South East geo-political zone, for the opportunity to serve the party and assured the governor that they would deliver all party candidates.

Your Excellency, the assurance we want to give you is that we are going to deliver all our candidates 100 percent starting from you (Ugwuanyi) to the last man.

“On behalf of all the members of the campaign council, we thank you all, be rest assured that the job will be done.”

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi, the PDP governorship candidate in Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, his running mate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, candidates for the Senate, Federal House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly.
