Buhari: I’ll leave Nigeria a better place.
President Muhammadu Buhari assured Nigerians on Wednesday that he would leave the country a safer place when his tenure ends in May 2023.
President Buhari reiterated his earlier assurance during the Emblem Appeal Launch for the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in the Presidential Villa’s Council Chambers in Abuja.
He made a N10 million donation to the appeal fund.
Buhari then called on all Nigerians, as well as corporate organizations, to come together and support the country’s veterans and families of fallen heroes, whose sacrifices in the past have kept the country together.
The President praised the country’s armed forces for their efforts to make the country safer for all citizens and visitors.
He assured them of his administration’s continued support and the necessary funding to continue their efforts.
Many senior government officials and dignitaries from various sectors attended the event, which preceded the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) was also present, as was Senate President Dr Ahmad Lawan, as well as ministers, military and other security chiefs.
