Rice returns to England’s World Cup training after being absent due to illness.

Declan Rice, a midfielder for England , resumed training on Thursday, allaying concerns regarding his physical condition ahead of Saturday’s World Cup quarterfinal matchup against France.

At a press conference, midfielder Kalvin Phillips revealed that Rice had participated in the training session at their Al-Wakrah base.

“I believe Dec is fit, he’s back in training and he’s fine,” said Phillips, who would have been the obvious replacement for the West Ham player.

Rice has started each of England’s four games this tournament and has been a crucial component of their midfield.

With forward Raheem Sterling returning to Doha on Friday after a stint back in England, England should be close to fielding a full squad for the match against Didier Deschamps’ team.

Following a break-in at his home, Sterling spent time with his family in England, according to the Football Association, who stated that Sterling should be back at the team camp on Friday.

Callum Wilson, a backup striker, has been recovering from a muscle problem.
