2023: Teenager Explains His Reasons for Standing Before Peter Obi’s Convoy During the Lagos Rally
During a campaign in Lagos, a kid by the name of Yusuf Alami explains why he stood in front of Peter Obi’s vehicle.
Alami was seen in a picture that rapidly went viral on social media while the Labour Party was holding a rally in Lagos State on Saturday. In the photo, he is standing in front of a Toyota Prado SUV with his arms extended, while Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, can be seen grinning at the teen while standing through the sunroof of the car.
Alami acknowledged in an interview that he blocked Peter Obi’s convoy out of loyalty to the candidate.
Alami, an Ibadan-born resident of Lagos, said he admires Obi for his helpfulness and has a deep affection for him. He said that he would pray for Obi’s victory if he were to win the election.
After visiting all 36 of the states that make up the federation, Peter Obi’s presidential campaign culminated in a rally on Saturday at Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island.
Along with others, the event was attended by Datti Baba-Amed, Obi’s running mate, and Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the head of the Yoruba sociopolitical group Afenifere.
