Adisa Olashile, a young Nigerian guy who went viral months ago after he minted NFT pictures of an old drummer and sold them for N1 million, has completed his National Youth Service Programme.
In April, the corp member tweeted images of an ancient drummer named ‘Baba Onilu,’ who goes around entertaining people with his drumming talents.
Olashile, who was stationed in Oyo state at the time, said the elderly drummer was a regular at the Secretariat, where he and other corps members met for Community Development Service (CDS).
He wrote; ”I always meet this man at the secretariat where we have our Cds , so I decided to make him smile more with my camera . I hope you all see the emotions in his smiles.”
Adisa released an update on April 2 about how he was able to monetize the great images by minting them as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) and selling them on OpenSea for 0.3 Ethereum (Eth) each.
Given that the photographer could sell two for 0.3 Eth each, the total price would be $2,098.32. (N1,225,418.88).
In fulfillment of a commitment, the photographer then gave the elderly guy half of the money.
Sharing the photos on Twitter, he wrote; ”Minted baba’s pictures as nft and got them sold immediately. Inshallahu 50% is going to him. Ramadan Kareem 🌙”
It was my POP yesterday and I really don’t know when I will be seeing the old Baba onilu again so I thought of taking his photographs with his amazing smile 😊 ❤️

The junior corps member also opened a bank account for the man to keep the money safe.
He then bought a new phone for the drummer and gave him a large photo frame.
Adisa said in a recent post that he had passed out and does not know what the future holds.
He took some parting photos with the drummer and uploaded them on his Twitter page, writing;
”I really don’t know the next thing after this but I’m super grateful that I’m finally done 🇳🇬❤️”
