Davido’s “Timeless” album creates new record by becoming the first to receive 1 million streams on Boomplay within six hours of its release.
After receiving more than a million streams in the first six hours of its release, Davido, a well-known musician, broke a record on the music streaming platform Boomplay.
The much anticipated 17-track album debuted at midnight on March 31, 2023, and quickly rose to the top of the rankings on Apple Music for Nigeria, the UK, and a number of other countries.
Six hours after its Boomplay release, it became the first album to surpass the milestone of one million streams, breaking another record.
After the song was released, Davido described the journey from his most recent album, Timeless, to his prior album, A Better Time, as a whirlwind.
“At long last – WE are back. The journey from my last album to this album has been a whirlwind to say the least,” he wrote in part.
