Dino Melaye protests at the National Collation Center, saying, “This collation cannot go on.”
Dino Melaye, a lawmaker from Nigeria, protested today, February 27, outside the National Collation Center in Abuja.
Dino, the PDP’s party agent, requested that Yakubu Mahmood, the chairman of INEC, allow the results from the states to be put on one of the center’s screens so that party representatives in attendance can compare them to what the Resident Electoral Commissioners from each state are presenting.
However, the chairman disregarded his appeal, arguing that party agents at the state levels should have voiced their concerns at the time if there were any anomalies in the results.
Dino then made the suggestion that party agents be required to certify that the results they are announcing match those that have been uploaded to the INEC website.
As his suggestion was not approved by the INEC chairman, Dino began to shout requesting for the collation procedure to be delayed till the Collation officials are made to recite his planned declaration.
