Jandor criticizes Sanwo-Olu for shutting down Lagos markets at the APC mega rally

Dr. Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, is the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor in Lagos State. He has criticized the state’s alleged decision to close all major markets in preparation for the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) mega rally.

Today, November 26, 2022, is the scheduled day for the presidential campaign at Teslim Balogun Stadium in the Surulere district of the state.

While condemning the act, Adediran described it as a ruse to coerce the traders in every market to attend their scheduled campaign rally for Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate.

The head of the campaign organization’s media and communications, Gbenga Ogunleye, issued a statement on behalf of Jandor in which he noted that the state’s major market leaders had earlier sobbed in response to the state government’s order to close the markets.

Jandor claimed that the leaders of marketers’ associations denounced the threat made against any trader who fails to show up for the scheduled rally by some representatives of the state government and the MC Oluomo-led Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee.

JANDOR described the said action of the state government as “insensitive, callous, barbaric, and criminal.”

According to him, the country’s laws protect the traders’ freedom to conduct business as free citizens. And that it is illegal and cruel to coerce or threaten them into attending a program against their will.

Jandor, therefore, warned the state government “to desist from unleashing further pains on the people of the state who are barely surviving the harsh economic condition of the country which the bad governance of the APC at the federal and state levels have plucked the nation into.”

He advised the state government to abandon its evil plan to deny the dependent traders their means of subsistence in order to accommodate the APC rally.

He also urged the traders and market association leaders “to stand their ground by refusing to be bamboozled by the outgoing clueless government into attending the show of shame planned for rally.”

Jandor concluded, saying, “I urge you residents to keep hope alive as you endure the remaining days of the inept APC-led administration. I assure you that your vote for the PDP in the 2023 general elections will birth the much-desired breath of fresh air in the governance of the state.”
