Nnamdi Kanu’s suit against Judge on secret trial struck out

The complaint, which named the Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho, as the sole defendant, was dismissed after the Biafra nation agitator abruptly withdrew it.

Following the approval of a Practice Direction for the trial of terrorism-related offenses to be conducted in camera, the IPOB leader dragged the Chief Judge before the court. His complaint was that the secret trial policy implemented immediately after the Federal Government filed 15-count treasonable felony charges against him violated his fundamental right to a fair trial.

At the start of the hearing on Friday, Kanu indicated through his lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, that he was no longer interested in continuing with the litigation.

A suit brought by incarcerated Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu against the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court on the court’s secret trial of terrorism accusations policy has been dismissed.

Ejiofor then requested that the case be dismissed in accordance with Kanu’s wishes. Speaking to reporters about the matter, the counsel noted that the action was withdrawn after it was discovered that the secret trial of terrorist charges policy implemented during Kanu’s trial was not directed at his client.
