Young Lady becomes first African-American woman to earn PhD in Aerospace Engineering at US university
The first ever black woman to receive a PhD in aerospace engineering from Cornell University in New York, United States, is Dr. Nialah Wilson-Small, a young and smart woman.
Nialah Wilson-Small, who posted on LinkedIn to celebrate her academic achievement, called the process a wild and exhausting trip and expressed her gratitude to all of those who made it possible.
At Howard University in Washington, USA, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Nialah began her journey toward higher education. She then continued on to Cornell University to complete her master’s degree in aerospace engineering.
Upon the conclusion of her PhD at Cornell University where she earned her Master’s degree, she announced her incredible achievement saying: “I successfully defended my dissertation and became the 1st Black woman to get a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University.”
“You may now call me Dr. Nialah Wilson-Small,” she added.
