An uneducated 71-year-old man follows his mother’s advice and completes his Master’s degree with flying colors.

A 71-year-old man from South Carolina, United States of America, has accomplished an incredible feat by earning a Master’s Degree in teaching from the University of South Carolina, USA.

Leroy Harley, a 71-year-old council member for the town of Bowman, enrolled for an academic degree on the advice of his mother, who thought he would make a great teacher despite his age.

Leroy Harley enrolled in college at the age of 69, following his mother’s advice. At the age of 71, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Teaching three years after enrolling.

His accomplishment also saw him follow his mother’s advice and pursue his passion for teaching. When asked about his accomplishments, Harley stated that he is proud of himself. “I am really proud of myself; I mean, I have to be,” Harley said after receiving his certificate on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

Harley had previously attended Bethune-Bowman Elementary School, where he was hired as a teacher’s assistant before enrolling for a Master’s Degree at the University of South Carolina.

His enrollment at the University of South Carolina was aided by the knowledge he gained during his years of experience, as well as the knowledge he gained while working at Bethune-Bowman Elementary School.
