I am confident that I will reclaim my mandate – Oyetola
Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola has stated that he will reclaim his mandate at the governorship election petition tribunal.
On Saturday, Oyetola made this claim while speaking at the 31st Iragbiji Day in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of the state.
The governor of Osun and candidate for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, insisted on winning the governorship on July 16.
Oyetola expressed confidence that he would preside over the 32nd Iragbiji Day celebration as governor.
He said, “By the special grace of Allah, In Sha Allah, I shall grace this occasion next year, still as the Osun Governor.
“I have no doubt in my mind that I shall reclaim my mandate,” he added.
Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ademola Adeleke the election winner.
Adeleke received 403,271 votes, while Oyetola received 375,027 votes in the hotly contested election.
Following the July 16 election, Oyetola and the APC challenged results from 749 polling units in 10 LGAs for alleged electoral malpractice.
