Kunle Afolayan reacts as the FG bestows national honor on him.
Kunle Afolayan, a Nollywood actor and director, has written a post thanking the federal government for bestowing the National Honor on him.
On Sunday, the complete list of 2023 National Honors recipients was made public online.
The filmmaker was among the 50 people named Officer of the Order of Nigeria (OON).
On his Instagram page, Kunle Afolayan expressed his gratitude to the government for the award.
According to him, he awoke this morning to a double celebration because filming for his film Anikulapo Rise of the Spectre began yesterday and he now has a national award.
“Hello good morning, it’s a double celebration.
So yesterday we finally rolled the camera on Anikulapo Rise of the Spectre series and I started getting calls from people congratulating me and I didn’t know what it was until they sent me the list of newly awarded recipients of the national award.
I want to say thank you to the Federal Government for honoring me with the OON merit award. I really appreciate it, I am a Nigerian and I believe so much in this country. God bless Nigeria”.
He captioned the post, “Thank you to Federal Republic of Nigeria for the honor. Ogbeni Adekunle Ayodeji Akande (OON)”.
