Nigeria: Ruggedman was initially offered to Gongo Aso, but he declined – Producer, ID Cabasa
ID Cabasa, a Nigerian music producer, has claimed that he initially presented the beat for the hit song, Gongo Aso, to rapper Ruggedman.
Ruggedman, he claims, refused to take the song, but he later handed it to 9ice, who turned it into a nationwide success.
During an interview with Jahbless on the Original Intelligence Podcast, ID Cabasa revealed this.
He did, however, claim that 9ice recorded Gongo Aso with a different beat at first, but after sampling another song and using the beat on it, he called back the singer to record Gongo Aso again.
