Rita Dominic is being questioned by feminists for changing her surname on social media hours after her wedding.

Dinah Antwiaa Twumasi, a Ghanaian feminist, has questioned Nigerian actress Rita Dominic’s decision to append her husband’s surname to hers on social media just hours after they married.

The actress and her husband, Fidelis Anosike, had a stunning white wedding in the United Kingdom over the weekend.

Following the event, Dominic changed her name to Rita Dominic Anosike on her social media profiles, which triggered Dinah.

She turned to Twitter to ask why the Nollywood diva, who is a global brand, would alter her name to Mrs Fidelis Anosike.

The feminist asked why it was always the woman’s responsibility to let up of certain areas of her own life after marriage.

In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote; ”Just hours after her white wedding, a household name, a global brand Rita Dominic is now called Mrs. Fidelis Anosike! Why, why must women always have to be the ones letting go after marriage?”
