Seun Kuti have been Arrested For Slapping A Police Officer and Taken to SCIID

Seun Kuti, an afrobeat musician who is currently detained by the police, was handcuffed and transported to Panti’s State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for additional questioning and potential detention.

This information was revealed in a video shared on Monday by Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress’s (AAC) presidential candidate.

Recall that after Kuti got into a fight with a police officer on the 3rd Mainland Bridge last week, Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, issued an arrest warrant for him.

He was seen on video assaulting a uniformed police officer.

However, Sowore claimed that Kuti had kept his word to fully cooperate with police inquiries by traveling to Lagos to meet with the commissioner of police while accompanied by his attorneys.

He wrote, “After visiting the @PoliceNG Commissioner in Lagos earlier today, @realseunkuti was arrested, handcuffed and taken to SCIID in Panti by @PoliceNG officers apparently for further investigations and possible detention over his altercation with a police officer on the 3rd mainland bridge. @RealSeunKuti fulfilled his promise to cooperate fully with police investigations and accordingly visited the Commissioner in Lagos with his lawyers.”
