Sowore raises funds for his presidential campaign.

Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, has received donations from Nigerians both at home and abroad for his presidential campaign ahead of the 2023 general election.

The donors made this donation on Sunday during a virtual fundraising event called “Sowore Campaign Global Mega Fundraising.”

The first donor was a UK-based Nigerian man known as Folyjesus, who gave 100 pounds, followed by another man known as Papzo, who gave N200,000.

Moyinoluwa, Oxley, and Ikeche Anyawu each contributed N100,000 to the cause. Chartered contributed N20,000, Olubunmi contributed N50,000, and Alex Adeniyi contributed N10,000.

Durotimi Timis contributed N25,000, Detoun contributed N5,000, and Favour contributed 50 Euros. Adeola and Solomon did not reveal the amounts of their donations.

Another Nigerian living abroad, Kingmax Robin, gave Sowore $1,000.

Meanwhile, Sowore has thanked the donors for their assistance.

He said, “I am so happy that while I was on the presidential townhall series, our compatriots were multitasking by watching and raising funds at the same time.

“Our goal is to put liberty on the ballot and we are determined to let the people own the race. I thank everyone who dropped their support for the genuine people-driven campaign leading to 2023,” he added.

These contributions come just days after a young woman, Loretta Oladayo, launched a N1 million donation challenge to support Sowore’s campaign.

In a previous tweet, Oladayo announced the challenge while showing the receipt of her N1m donation in a follow-up tweet.

She tweeted, “I’m donating N1m into Sowore’s presidential campaign; anyone wants to march this amount with me?”

“With Omoyele Sowore as President (in) 2023, there will be no motherless home.

“Patriotism for me is love for my country; (I) desperately want Nigeria to be a better place.”

“Initially catching cruise turns action by donating N1m to Omoyele Sowore presidential campaign. Screenshot below. I’m still looking for 10 comrades to match this amount with me. We must salvage this country from the rotten system because #WeCantContinueLikeThis. I’m investing in my future with Omoyele Sowore.”
