Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage as Tems, is a Grammy-winning Nigerian singer who has also worked as a producer.

She claimed that when she was just starting out, no one was interested in writing songs for her, so she made the decision to study music production.

Tems mentioned that she was her own inspiration and believed she could do it on her own during an interview on Jazzys World TV.

The composer claimed that having the ability to customize her sound as she wanted was made possible by her experience as a producer.

The Try Me singer went on to exhort everyone to pursue greatness with tenacity rather than relax.

“NO ONE WANTED TO PRODUCE FOR ME BACK THEN AND SO I SAID I CAN DO THIS MYSELF, AND IT MADE ME CREATE MY SOUND,” SHE SAID.
