Psquare has become legendary, Peter Okoye responds to political naysayers

Peter Okoye, a well-known Afropop musician from Nigeria, has bragged that PSquare, the band he and his twin brother Paul established, had achieved legendary status.

In response to criticism of his political views ahead of the 2023 presidential race, he made this statement.

Peter, popularly known as Mr. P, has made it known that he is backing Peter Obi for the Labour Party nomination.

Some of his admirers, however, were upset with his decision and criticized him for asking them to support the former governor of the Anambra state.

Taking to Twitter, Mr. P told detractors to stop sobbing and said that, despite what they might think, Psquare had achieved iconic status and was no longer looking for a job.

He wrote: “Stop crying.. We are Global! At this point we will be the one to decide when to retire! We sold out over 70 city World Tour with old songs! Be ready to cry more when our New album drops this summer!.

We no longer have a career! We are Iconic and legendary! OG’s before the IG.”

Peter reportedly claimed that entertainers are like the goats that music fans employ to celebrate Christmas, it was reported in December.

He claims that because they are always booked for performances and gatherings, musicians and other performing artists hardly ever spend time with their families during the holiday season.

Mr. P made the remark at the anticipated comedy-drama film “Battle on Buka Street” launch starring actress Funke Akindele.

The singer responded that he would not be traveling with his family because this is a time when entertainers make their money when asked how he typically spends the holiday season and what he plans to do this year.

Peter said; “We (entertainers) are the goats used in celebrating Christmas. We go to concerts and shows and don’t have time to celebrate Christmas. Do you want me to tell you that I am going to travel with my family? No now, it is a money-making period.”
