Brazil vs. Cameroon: What the statistics show

Brazil has defeated Cameroon five times out of six times (L1), most recently winning 1-0 in a friendly match in November 2018. Brazil has triumphed in both of their previous Fifa World Cup encounters, 3-0 in 1994 and 4-1 in 2014.

Both of Cameroon’s Fifa World Cup debuts—a match against Peru in 1982 and a triumph over Argentina in 1990—came against South American opposition. In their World Cup games overall against such teams, they have won two, drawn two, and lost two, with both losses coming against Brazil.

Brazil has defeated African opponents in all seven of their World Cup games, scoring 20 goals while allowing just two.
