A 17-year-old Nigerian student has broken the Guinness World Record for the most skips on one foot.
Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old student at Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, has set a Guinness World Record for the most number of skips on one foot in a 30-second time span.
On January 24, Solomon completed an impressive 153 skips on a single foot within the allotted 30-second interval, breaking Rasel Islam’s previous record of 145.
It was officially verified four months after his attempt, and Solomon was recognized for his remarkable achievement on Tuesday.
“Solomon was inspired by the previous holder of this record title Rasel Islam after seeing a video of his record attempt. He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship,” it announced on its website.
Solomon, a student at Ijapo High School in Akure, has added to Nigeria’s collection of Guinness World Records in rope skipping, following in the footsteps of his fellow student Gbenga Ezekiel.
Ezekiel In February, he set the world record for the most number of skips on one leg in one minute, with an impressive 265 skips.
Solomon, a senior secondary school three student, set out on his own record-breaking journey after being inspired by Ezekiel’s remarkable achievement earlier in the year.
