NDLEA agents uncover hard narcotics hidden inside yam tubers.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted illegal substances hidden inside yam tubers at Lagos’ Muritala Muhammed International Airport.
Femi Babafemi, the Agency’s Director of Media, announced this in a brief message issued on social media on Thursday, November 17, 2022.
He posted a video of NDLEA agents chopping apart a tuber of yam and discovering the hidden hard narcotics.
According to the agency’s spokeswoman, the discovery puts them one step ahead of the peddlers.
He wrote; “The ingenuity and desperation to conceal drugs for export by cartels beat human imagination. However, it’s obvious @ndlea_nigeria officers are now steps ahead of them courtesy of the inspiring leadership being provided by MB Marwa and support of local and international partners”.
Babafemi stated that more information about the discovery will be released by the agency in an official statement on Sunday.
