Brilliant Nigerian Lady graduates as an Electrical Engineer with first-class, wins PhD scholarship to US university
After excelling in her undergraduate degree, talented Nigerian woman Esiri Oghenekaro was awarded a PhD Scholarship to study electrical and computer engineering at Cornell University in New York, United States.
In the University of Benin, South-South, Nigeria, Esiri Oghenekaro earned a top-notch Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Out of a possible 5, she received a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.80.
She received a PhD scholarship to Cornell University in New York just two years after graduating despite not having a Master’s degree. Esiri Oghenekaro described how she accomplished the remarkable achievement, saying she had always wanted to continue her study abroad.
“I made a decision this time last year August 2021, that I was going to go abroad for my studies, one year later and I’m here! I’m happy to announce that I have gotten a fully funded PhD offer in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
“I got a fully-funded scholarship which covers tuition, health insurance and living expenses stipends for my time here and I am super grateful to God for the opportunity,” she added.
