Cross criticizes Aisha Buhari for uploading pictures from her daughter-in-law graduation in the UK during the ASUU strike, calling it “extremely callous.”

Aisha Buhari, the First lady of Nigeria, was criticized by reality TV personality Cross Okonkwo for her social media post honoring her daughter-in-laws graduation from a UK institution.

Aisha Buhari used her Instagram account to express her happiness over her daughter-in-laws achievement of first-class honors in Architectural Science at Coventry University in the United Kingdom.

The first lady shared a picture of herself with her son Yusuf and his wife Zahra on social media with the remark,

“Congratulations to Mrs Zahra B. Buhari on your graduation with First Class Honors in Architectural Science. Wishing you all the best.”

However, a number of Nigerians found fault with Aisha’s post and called it inappropriate.

Cross, a former housemate from Big Brother Naija’s sixth season, also used his Twitter account to make fun of the president’s wife for the position.

He highlighted that because she is a mother to Nigerian nationals and public university students are now not in class, celebrating her daughter in-laws graduation would appear to be shaming Nigerian students who are suffering from the protracted strike.

“To me this is very insensitive ma. Your the mother of the nation and over 92% of ur children are not going to school atm and just because one of ur biological child finished from school. Which is kool and what not. But don’t come online and rub it in on your other children face.

It’s not kool and it’s very sad to me. All the children in Nigeria 🇳🇬 should be celebrated like the way you celebrate your daughter. I’m lucky cuz my mum did her best to send me to skool. What about those that don’t have mothers. You are to be their mother .Mother of the nation🙏”. He wrote.
