Darlington Okoye, better known by his stage name Speed Darlington, a Nigerian artist and rapper based in the US, has claimed to have elevated Afrobeats.

Speedy, as he is affectionately known, made more of an impact on the genre than Burna Boy, a Grammy Award winner.

In a recent episode of the Be Grounded podcast, the contentious musician made this claim while mentioning that he is also a music producer.

He said that he produced the majority of the songs he put out, including the duet titled “I’m In love With My Hand” with Zlatan Ibile.

Speed Darlington bemoaned the fact that while other Afrobeats artists have not accomplished as much as he has, they are nonetheless more well-known and praised.

He remarked that there is no way he will rejoice after witnessing coworkers, whom he is confidently superior to, receiving increased workloads and expanding in size.
