Security personnel stationed at the Lekki tollgate reportedly sprayed tear gas at adolescents participating in a walk-through at the toll gate to remember the #Endsars protest that took place on October 20, 2020.
Keep in mind that on Wednesday, artist Folarin Falana, aka Falz the Bahd man, announced the drive-through procession on his Instagram page.
The procession will mimic the first anniversary, when people drove and walked through the tollgate to memorialize the victims, according to a flyer that Falz published. #EndSARS Memorial 2.0 procession was written in part of the banner.
We will walk through the toll gate, drive through the toll gate, blast horns, sing and chat in harmony through the toll gate, and wave our flags in remembrance of those who were killed on October 20, 2022, and those we have lost to police violence.
Security personnel, however, gained control of the Lekki tollgate on Thursday and were observed shooting tear gas at demonstrators this morning.
