Young genius girl bags PhD degree at 17 years old, sets outstanding record

Tessa Embry, a 17-year-old woman, received her PhD from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, becoming one of the nation’s youngest PhD recipients ever.

Tessa excelled in school beginning in high school, earning her diploma from Lake County College in Illinois at age 11 and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Chicago University in Illinois at age 14.

At the age of 15, Tessa pursued and completed her Master’s in Business Administration. She then enrolled at Capella University in Minneapolis to pursue her PhD in Aviation Psychology.

Tessa’s mother spoke about her achievement saying her daughter was prepared for the achievement. She said: “Academically and mentally she was prepared for it. And I didn’t want to put a cap on it and hinder her and limit her if she was able to accomplish it. And I just went on and encouraged her to go ahead and make the most of it.”

Author and licensed pilot Dr. Tessa Embry claimed that she began reading and comprehending college-level stuff between the ages of 6 and 8.

“The first topic that I read about was consciousness in sleeping dreams and about the neurons in the brain and I thought that was very interesting to study,” Tessa recalled.
