Asake sets highest-charting Billboard record with debut album

A new achievement has been accomplished by award-winning vocalist Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, with his debut album, “Mr Money With The Vibes.”

The highest-charting debut album by a Nigerian artist in Billboard history is Asake’s MMWTV.

The project reached its highest point in 2022 and triumphed over all rival initiatives, including Wizkid’s More Love Less Ego and Burna Boy’s Love, Damini.

The information about the music chart statistics was revealed in a post on the microblogging site Twitter.

“In 2022, @asakemusik’s ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe’ became the highest-charting debut Nigerian album of all time on the Billboard,” the post read.

Remember that the 12-track album entered the Billboard 200 following its release and peaked at number 66, making it the highest-debuting Nigerian album and occupying the second spot on the Billboard World Album Chart.

On September 8, 2022, Asake published Mr. Money With The Vibes, which spent the first week in the Top 10 on Apple Music.

In other entertainment news, former DMW signee Yonda recently pleaded with musician Davido to accept him back into the fold and forgive him for his transgressions.

He posted a chat he had with OBO on social media, in which he fervently begged for another chance.

Yonda pleaded with the DMW chairman to exercise restraint and save him from execution because he had been expelled from the business.

The Bro Code singer requested Davido to accept him back like the prodigal son after declaring that his music career is over.

The multiple award-winning singer responded by stating that he also misses his former record label artist.

Yonda persisted in making his point and afterwards acknowledged his error and his willingness to make apologies under Davido’s direction.

The ‘Jowo’ singer is the best thing that has ever happened to him, he said, but Davido claimed that what Yonda did devastated him.
