‘He’s a transformational leader’

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a presidential contender for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called Bishop David Oyedepo, head of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, a transformational leader.

Bishop Oyedepo celebrated his 68th birthday yesterday, and Aswaj Tinubu noted the great impact he has had on the Pentecostal Christian movement in Nigeria since he began his ministry more than 40 years ago in a statement released by his media office in Abuja.

The frontline cleric was lauded for his vision and investment in secondary and tertiary education, particularly Covenant University at Ota in Ogun State and Landmark University at Omuo-Aran in Kwara State, which are setting new standards in research and technology. The former governor of Lagos State and APC National Leader also praised the frontline cleric.

“Today is Bishop David Oyedepo’s 68th birthday, and I join in the celebration and joy. With the profoundly positive effects of his ministry as a revered man of the pulpit, Bishop Oyedepo has done a great deal to serve God and our nation. This venerable guy is also having a significant impact on education for God and his country.

“We give God praise for Bishop Oyedepo’s transformative leadership and his life of service.

The statement read, “As we celebrate with him the gift of another year of excellent health, I wish him greater exploits in God’s vineyard and more accomplishments for the good of mankind.”
