Rabiya Abbasi, a female LinkedIn user, took to her profile to announce that she had received a PhD in mechanical engineering from the prestigious University of Alberta in Canada.
Rabiya captioned her LinkedIn post with the good news;
“I am elated to announce that I have successfully defended my PhD thesis and passed my exam without revisions. This marks the end of my PhD journey at the University of Alberta. I’d like to thank my supervisor Rafiq Ahmad, Ph.D, P.Eng. for this opportunity, his constant support and belief in me throughout my research. I’d also like to thank my co-supervisor Pablo Martinez Rodriguez for guiding me in my research and inspiring me to author 7 papers. This work would not be successful without his valuable feedback and help at each and every step of my research. I would also like to thank my colleagues Hamdan Al-Musaibeli, Feiyu Jia and Emanuel Martínez Villanueva from the LIMDA team for providing valuable advice throughout this thesis. Lastly, I would like to thank all my team members from the LIMDA team for their good wishes, and support and for making my PhD journey a beautiful one!”
Rabiya, on the other hand, earned her bachelor’s degree in 2011 from the University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar and her master’s degree in 2017 from the University of Bradford.
