Mercy Johnson faces backlash for endorsing Governor Sanwo-Olu for second term and fans reacts, ‘Ask him who gave the orders’

Mercy Johnson-Okojie, a well-known actress, has faced harsh criticism after publicly endorsing Babajide Sanwo-Olu for reelection as governor of Lagos State.

Everyone in Lagos State has been canvassing for their preferred candidate ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election.

Mercy Johnson recently released a scorecard of the current governor, who is running for re-election to keep his job. Sanwo-Olu has excelled in the fields of healthcare, culture & entertainment, road construction/rehabilitation, environment, cuisine, education, and technology, according to the scorecard that the mother of four published.

Captioning her post, she wrote: “This is why my choice is Governor Babajide Sanwoolu; His efforts that have improved healthcare, women’s development, transportation, entrepreneurship, education, and infrastructure in Lagos State.

“Key points for me include the handling of the Covid 19 pandemic, entrepreneurship support and all the work behind the scenes helping women who have been victims of domestic violence to supporting their entrepreneurship.

“His results can be seen and measured. Yes, there is still a lot of work left to do, I believe in my heart that he can and will do as he says”.

Fans criticized Mery Johnson in the comments section for backing Sanwo-Olu.

Many people questioned her decision not to promote the president-elect in the same manner as she does her governorship contender. Others advised her to speak with the governor to find out who ordered the massacre at the 2020 Lekki-Toll gate.
