Peter Oyefolu, a brilliant Nigerian engineer who earned a first-class degree in Chemical Engineering, defeated over 7,000 applications to receive the EducationUSA grant, which allows recipients to enroll in any university in the United States.

Peter Oyefolu earned a first-class in Chemical Engineering while earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Benin, South-South, Nigeria.

Following several years of perseverance and hard work, Peter was awarded the EducationUSA Scholarship, allowing him to pursue a PhD in the United States of America. Low-income, academically capable, and highly driven students are given full funding to study in the USA under the EducationUSA Scholarship.

Peter claimed he broke down in tears upon receiving the email from the American Embassy informing him that he had won the scholarship.

“I bursted into tears of joy when I received this mail from EducationUSA Lagos. I couldn’t believe my eyes! It really takes a touch of favor and grace to be one of the 27 selected OFP Scholars out of 7000 applicants,” he wrote on Linkedin.
