Naira Scarcity: Paul Okoye laments, “I Purchased N40K With N70K.”

Nigerian artist Paul Okoye of Psquare bemoaned the lack of Naira notes and how it was affecting him right now.

Nigerians have experienced a dearth of new Naira notes after the implementation of the Naira redesign strategy.

Paul Okoye claimed in an Instagram post that he needed cash and purchased 40,000 Naira at the embassy for 70,000 Naira.

He said that Nigeria was “setting new records” at the moment.

He wrote:

OMO!! I BUY MONEY TODAY!! JUST BECAUSE I HAVE TO PAY FOR A CERTAIN FEE IN AN EMBASSY, AND IT HAS TO BE PAID IN CASH. JOKE APART I BOUGHT 40K WITH 70K AAHHH NAIJA BREAKING NEW RECORDS
