Brilliant Lady bags two degrees from two different US universities in the same week, sets record

A talented young woman who earned two degrees from two distinct US universities in the same week went on to flourish professionally and is currently employed by the White House as a deputy director.

After earning a Master’s degree in political management from the George Washington University in Washington and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the young woman going by the name of Ashley Nicome Williams made history in 2019.

Ashley had previously earned a bachelor’s degree in international politics from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 2010.

She talked about her academic success and how her biggest challenge was dealing with school rejections throughout two different admissions rounds.

Ashley’s work as the Director of Special Projects to the U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues while she was still in college is another highlight of her accomplishments. She acknowledges that it wasn’t simple, but she was committed to using strategy.

“During my first year of school, I stopped my Master’s program so I could focus on law full time. The summer following my first year, I resumed my Master’s program and simultaneously did Law and my Master’s until I completed my Master’s in December of 2018 – which I did while I was studying abroad in Tokyo,” she explained.
