Wizkid claims that listening to talented young artists brings back memories of his youth

Award-winning singer Wizkid, also known as Ayodeji Balogun, has discussed his thoughts on the new generation of quickly ascending musicians.

He claimed that he finds it intriguing whenever he hears up-and-coming artists producing quality songs and utilizing novel sounds.

Asake, Bella Shmurda, and Fireboy DML are just a few of the new artists who are taking over the music industry.

Wizkid said that listening to them sing makes him think of his earlier years, when he was just getting started.

He said; “Every time I hear a new, young artist in Nigeria making good music or doing something fresh, it sort of reminds me of myself back when I first started.”

Big Wiz went on to say that one reason he loves music so much is that it gives him energy. Nothing makes him happier, he said, except music.

The Starboy also mentioned how the African music scene is rife with outstanding musicians that have the potential to change the world.

The author of the Joro hit stated that he doesn’t believe he will ever grow weary of the route he set out for himself.

Wizkid said; “The music keeps me going, honestly. There isn’t anything I love more than making music. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of doing it. I’ve been doing this for years. Traveling the world, doing shows, shoots, appearances, everything. So, I’m used to it.”

“There are so many incredible musicians, artists, producers, engineers, instrumentalists from Africa. We have it all with world class talent and drive. There is going to be more music from Africa that’s going to make big waves around the world”.
