Young Nigerian Lady whose mom sells food to sponsor her education graduates from university, makes mother proud
Oluwadamilola Rodiat Ayankunbi, a young Nigerian woman, has made her ignorant mother proud by receiving a diploma from a polytechnic in Nigeria, West Africa.
Oluwadimola’s mother sells food in a market to generate money to pay for her education, and thanks to the support of her mother, despite being from a low-income family, she was able to graduate with honors.
Oludamilola Rodiat and her mother, who sells bean cake, enjoyed a joyous moment as they celebrated her accomplishment (locally called akara). Her mother could be seen writing “Iya Alakara” on her daughter’s white robe in the posted footage.
Oluwadamilola Rodiat earned a National Diploma in Mass Communication. She narrated that since she was a kid, she had always wanted to work hard to put smile on her family’s face. “Growing up to face d reality of life n knowing I wasn’t born wit a sliver spoon, I doubled my hustle n make handwork my watchword,” she said on Instagram.
“I worked so hard to put smile on my family n to be a better person……have been mocked n ridiculed bcos of d type of hustle I choose but it doesn’t stop me from being who I am….I worked so hard so my children won’t go through d stress I went through,” she added.
