A 17-year-old homeless student outperforms his peers to become the school’s best student, earning a $3 million scholarship to study engineering
Tupac Mosley, a 17-year-old homeless boy, stunned his classmates by graduating as the best student at Raleigh Egypt High School in Tennessee’s eastern United States.
Tupac Mosley, despite facing several challenges as a homeless student, maintained a 4.3 GPA and was accepted to more than 40 universities in the United States.
He also received a total scholarship fund of $3 million, including the Gates Bridge Scholarship, to study at the University. “When I found out I had received $3 million, I was overjoyed, excited, and astounded,” Mosley told Fox 13.
Tupac’s father had passed away, leaving his family unable to pay their debts. They were eventually evicted from their home and have since been living in various locations throughout Memphis, Tennessee.
Fortunately, they discovered “For the Kingdom,” a nonprofit organization that helps urban children and teens make positive choices while also providing a camping site. Tupac was thankful for the chance to spend time with his family.
Tupac has enrolled at Tennessee State University in the United States to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
