“It’s never a good sign when a presidential contender feels the need to prove he’s still alive,” says Jonathan Rosenthal, an international journalist, in response to Tinubu’s training video.
Tinubu released the video to refute the rumor that he had dropped out of the presidential campaign owing to his health.
International publication The Economist’s Africa editor, Jonathan Rosenthal, responded to a video showing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, working out hard.
To refute a rumored claim that he had dropped out of the presidential run due to his health, Tinubu released the video.
The APC leader was shown in the video working out hard on a spin bike in an effort to disprove suspicions about his health and well-being.
He added a caption;
“Many have claimed that I have passed away, while others assert that I have ended my presidential candidacy. Actually, no. The truth is that I am STRONG, HEALTHY, and READY to serve Nigerians right away.
In response to the video’s varied online responses, Rosenthal stated that it is never a good sign when a presidential contender feels the need to demonstrate his continued existence.
He tweeted, citing Tinubu’s tweet,
Oh dear, when a presidential contender feels the need to demonstrate his continued existence, it is never a good indication. #NigeriaDecides2023”
