Ndidi Nyoro, the Kiharu MP, alleged on Sunday that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua cannot meet with President William Ruto without the permission of his aide Farouk Kibet.
Farouk has been President Ruto’s personal aide for many years.
During a thanksgiving event hosted by Farouk at Koilel Primary School in Uasin Gishu county, Nyoro stated that the host is a powerful man in Ruto’s inner circle.
He said that no one can approach the president without Farouk’s approval, who he described as quick in arranging activities whenever the President is set to attend functions.
“Huyu mtu anaitwa Farouk ni mtu wa maana sana. Na watu wanasikianga Farouk wanafikiria ni mtu utapata ako na ofisi floor moja ujo kwa ofisi ya Rais (Farouk is a very important person. Many people hear of him and think he has an office at the office of the President),” he said.
“Ofisi ya Farouk ni ile ya Rais wetu wa Kenya. Kwa sababu huwezi fikia Rais Farouk akisema no. Ata huyu deputy President rafiki yangu kufikia yeye (Ruto) Farouk lazima aseme yes (Farouk’s office is that of the President of Kenya. Because you can’t access the president if Farouk says no. Even the deputy president who is my friend to reach him Farouk must say yes),” he added, seemingly in jest.
Gachagua expressed interest in working with Farouk while describing him, but the President advised him he should look for “his own Farouk.”
The DP stated that the assistant was crucial to Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s victory and that he made a significant impact.
