Exceptional 12-year-old girl enrolls at Arizona State University and will graduate as an engineer at 16

Alena Wicker, a child who is highly intelligent and is just 12 years old, has been admitted to Arizona State University.

Alena was still a high school student when she was admitted to the university because of her extraordinary intelligence and aspiration to work as a space engineer. In order to follow her passion, Alen will concentrate her studies at Arizona State University on chemistry and astronomical and planetary science.

“I always dreamed of being an engineer because throughout my life I liked the building,” Alena told “Gold Morning America” about her goal to work at NASA – The National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Originally, she said, she wanted to be an astronomer, but then she decided to switch over to engineering because of her love of building things. “I would love to build a rover to go to space,” Alena said.

At a very young age, Alena began to work for her goal. Since she was 4 years old, she has been creating Lego structures the size of NASA.

“She would always say ‘Mommy, I’m going to work for NASA. Then she would start saying, ‘I’m going to be the youngest Black girl to ever work for NASA,” Daphne McQuarter (her mother) recounted.
