Ghana: I’m Sorry And Hurt For Missing Legend Nana Ampadu’s Funeral – Sarkodie
Michael Owusu Addo, also known as Sarkodie, an internationally acclaimed singer who has won multiple honors, has expressed regret and remorse for missing Nana Ampadu’s burial.
On Friday, October 7, the late legendary Highlife musician Nana Kwame Ampadu was laid to rest at the State House.
Among the luminaries who attended his funeral were Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, and Dr. Ofori Sarpong.
The burial was also attended by members of the Actors Guild, members of the Music Ghana Association (MUISGA), and numerous luminaries.
Sarkodie explained his absence at Nana Ampadu’s funeral on Twitter, saying he felt horrible for not being present.
He wrote;
“Ashamed and hurt for not making it to the Legend Nana Ampadu’s funeral … Uncle David Dontoh told me about it last Sunday… Crazy how I had it on my mind from then and still missed it. but all the same Rest In Peace Grandpa May the almighty keep you safe”.
The “Labadi” Rapper also admitted that he has failed for not attending funeral of several veteran musicians who have passed away in the past adding that he needs to do better.
“No excuse makes sense to even myself missing all these legends funerals.. Need to do better 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿”.
