Bishop Herman College replaced Kumasi Academy as a seeded school.o
The first competition, held on October 17, 2022, at the Saarah-Mensah Auditorium, highlighted the Absa Bank Volta-Oti Zonal Champion: Bishop Herman College.
Kumasi Academy SHS (KUMACA), Bishop Herman College (BIHECO), and Fiaseman SHS competed in the competition (FIASSEC). KUMACA appeared to have a comfortable lead at the completion of the first round.
In the second round, Bishop Herman College surprised everyone by taking the lead. With a two-point lead over Kumasi Academy SHS, the Kpando boys were on the verge of a victory.
In the third round, BIHECO easily outperformed, earning them the Prudential Life NSMQ star award.
BIHECO had a substantial lead going into the last round, so it was a thrilling finale. Fiaseman attempted to solve two riddles but was clearly unsuccessful.
Theirs was an amazing performance, but it came too late for them to win.
KUMACA failed to impress enough to keep their seed, falling to BIHECO.
Bishop Herman College advanced to the quarterfinals.
